Throughout this website, the term “Pearidge” is used as a collective name for the historically Black communities of Cherokee County that share a common history, heritage, and cultural identity. While each community has its own unique story, we recognize their deep connections and honor them together under the name Pearidge. This approach reflects our commitment to preserving the collective legacy, celebrating the people who built these communities, and ensuring their history is remembered for future generations.
